IPASA Inaugural Innovative Medicines Summit took place 1 September 2016 at the Hyatt Hotel, Rosebank. The Summit was graced by 200 attendees representing a diverse group of industry players, including Policymakers (Government and Funders), Science Councils, Academia, Patient Advocacy Groups, Press, Civil Society Advocacy, Hospitals, Pharmacy Groups, Independent Pharmacy, Doctor Groups, Independent Practitioner and Pharma Industry.

 

The speakers included Honourable Minister Naledi Pandor, Dr. Timmy Kedijang, Prof. Kelly Chibale, Mr. Michael Kleinrock, Dr. Patrice Matchaba, Mr. Richard Bergström, Mr. Greg Perry, Dr. Jonathan Broomberg, Dr. Mark Britnell and Dr. Konji Sebati. The resounding and reoccurring themes of cooperation, collaboration and partnership were echoed through the day.

Patient Testimonials by Raynolda Makhutle (Cancer.vive) and Kelly du Plessis (Rare Disease) left the audience with little doubt of the value of innovation touching their lives, and opportunities beyond their stories.
