Shelley was appointed as the Head of Oncology, Novartis South Africa in October 2015 and in July 2016 was given the additional responsibility for Oncology Sub Sahara Africa. Shelley was appointed as South Africa Country President on 1st February 2020, having been ad interim in this role since December 2018.

Shelley has accumulated more than 30 years’ professional experience, having worked for different pharma companies including Janssen, Lilly and Merck KGaA with multiple management positions. She had the unique opportunity to work across all franchises in Pharma, building up to her role as Oncology General Manager.

During her career in Novartis, Shelley was able to build a strong and collaborative team within Oncology, championing the UnIC journey within Novartis and is seen as someone who is willing to engage across multiple stakeholders in order to win for patients and uphold Novartis’s reputation.

Shelley serves on the IPASA CEO Council and represents Novartis at the Swiss Chamber.

Shelley is an EXCO member of IPASA Council.
