  • Within the SADC region, South Africa continues to have the highest number of cases accounting for 90% of all cases and 91% of all deaths.
  • After South Africa, Egypt has the highest number of cumulative cases (97 340), followed by Nigeria (52 227), Morocco (52 349), Ghana (43 505) and Algeria (41 904).
  • The South African case facility rate of 2,1% is lower than the global rate, whilst Egypt has a 5,4% case fatality rate, higher than the global average of 3,5%.
